Order of the Arrow Troop Representative Committee

New - Link to the T249 OATR Newsletter

Objective:  The objective of the Order of the Arrow Troop Representative Committee is to improve communication between our lodge / chapters and individual troops.  The OA Troop Representative program is essential in keeping troops, and the scouts in those troops, informed about what is going on in their lodge and their chapter.

In order to improve communication, we will create a directory with the contact information listed bellow of each OA Troop Representative in our lodge.  We will be using Microsoft Access to put the list together and make it easier to keep track of all the information.

Once the list if complete, it will be easier to find an OA Troop Representative’s information and contact them with a message.  Also, each chapter can be given a copy of the information of the OA Troop Representatives in their chapter.  All of this will make it easier to inform troops of any messages and / or event dates and descriptions.

Who:  One person from each chapter.  These people will contact all the Scoutmasters in their district and obtain the contact information listed below of their troop’s OA Troop Representative.  They will then email me (my email is at the bottom of this paper) any new information to be added to the list.  There is more than one person working on obtaining information because if there was just one person trying to call every Scoutmaster in the council, it would take much more time and energy.  This way, each person only has to contact around 20 Scoutmasters and it will take less time.

What:  A list of all the OA Troop Representatives of our Lodge.  The list will contain the following information for each OA Troop Representative:

·        Troop Number

·        Town

·        Name

·        Phone Number

·        Email Address

Goal:  The OA Troop Representative Committee’s goal is to complete the contact list of all the OA Troop Representatives in our Lodge by Sunday, April 23, 2006.

Please email Greg Burke with any questions, concerns or information and he will forward those emails to me regarding OATR.

Please see the attached Duties and Responsibilities page for more info!
